The Value of Volunteers

Preparing to give safety cover on the river is always important, checking the boats and equipment. The best preparation is to encourage as many volunteers to attend as possible. I am a great believer in safety in numbers, especially when covering a large area of water. I always feel a little more at ease knowing that if there was an accident on the water we have a safety boat within close reach.

Having been a volunteer to the Glasgow Humane Society I fully understand how difficult it can be to find time to give up. That is why as an Officer of the GHS I know that the greatest donation that we receive is a volunteer’s time.

We have a fantastic group of volunteers with a vast range of skills and talents from which we like to draw on.

We fully understand that people lead busy lives and other things do take priority.

We also know that there can be a feeling of trepidation in returning to the GHS after a long period.

So my message to all the volunteers past and present is; it’s never too late.

We value your time no matter how much or how little. There are no limits on time away so please do not hesitate in getting back in touch with us.

Ever!
